Overview
Abstract
Social sustainability is defined as the condition in which individuals are included in development and trust that they and future generations will benefit from it. Based on this definition, the Social Sustainability Global Database (SSGD) compiles 12 indicators from 18 recognized sources, structured around four dimensions of social sustainability: social cohesion, inclusion, resilience, and process legitimacy. The database covers 222 countries and territories, provides disaggregation by sex, ag, urban/rural location, ethnicity, and religion, and includes information at both national and subnational (ADM1) levels. Data are organized into two periods: 2015–2018 and 2019–2022.

Reproduction instructions
Some data used in this reproducibility package is restricted. Users must obtain access to the necessary data before running the code. Once the data is available, follow these steps to reproduce the results:
After placing the data in the folder:
- Open the do-file "1_ssgd_user_profiler" in the folder "master files"
- Update the globals in line 26 to your folder's location
- Run the do-file
Since all the data is not included, the package includes the final data produced by replicators in the "final_data" folder.
