We revisit these entrepreneurs after seven years, and find long-lasting average impacts of personal initiative training of $91 higher profits per month, which is larger than the 2-year impacts. However, these long-term impacts are very different for men and women: the impact for men grows over time as they accumulate more capital and increase self-efficacy, whereas the impact for women dissipates, and capital build-up is much more limited.","geographic_units":[{"name":"Togo","code":"TGO","type":"Country"}],"keywords":[{"name":"Microentrepreneurship"},{"name":"Business training"},{"name":"Personal initiative"},{"name":"Firm growth"}],"topics":[{"id":"O12","uri":"https:\/\/www.aeaweb.org\/econlit\/jelCodes.php?view=jel","parent_id":"O","name":"Microeconomic Analyses of Economic Development"},{"id":"O17","uri":"https:\/\/www.aeaweb.org\/econlit\/jelCodes.php?view=jel","parent_id":"O","name":"Formal and Informal Sectors \u2022 Shadow Economy \u2022 Institutional Arrangements"},{"id":"L26","uri":"https:\/\/www.aeaweb.org\/econlit\/jelCodes.php?view=jel","parent_id":"L","name":"Entrepreneurship"},{"id":"J24","uri":"https:\/\/www.aeaweb.org\/econlit\/jelCodes.php?view=jel","parent_id":"J","name":"Human Capital \u2022 Skills \u2022 Occupational Choice \u2022 Labor Productivity"},{"id":"J16","uri":"https:\/\/www.aeaweb.org\/econlit\/jelCodes.php?view=jel","parent_id":"J","name":"Economics of Gender \u2022 Non-labor Discrimination"},{"id":"D22","uri":"https:\/\/www.aeaweb.org\/econlit\/jelCodes.php?view=jel","parent_id":"D","name":"Firm Behavior: Empirical Analysis"}],"data_statement":"All data sources are publicly available but not included in the reproducibility package.
