The focus is on refining NTM reductions in services using sector- and mode-specific policy shocks. Results suggest that reducing sectoral restrictions could boost services exports by 4% overall and by 14% within Africa, with increased imports from outside the region. Key manufacturing exports like textiles and processed foods are also projected to grow, reflecting the role of services as inputs across industries. Conservative scenarios indicate most African economies benefit from reductions in non-tariff measures affecting services trade.","geographic_units":[{"name":"United States of America","code":"USA"}],"keywords":[{"name":"AfCFTA"},{"name":"Services Trade Liberalization"},{"name":"Ntms"},{"name":"Services Trade Restrictiveness Index"},{"name":"Digital Trade"}],"topics":[{"id":"F1","uri":"https:\/\/www.aeaweb.org\/econlit\/jelCodes.php?view=jel","vocabulary":"Journal of Economic Literature (JEL)","name":"Trade","parent_id":"F"},{"id":" F14","uri":"https:\/\/www.aeaweb.org\/econlit\/jelCodes.php?view=jel","vocabulary":"Journal of Economic Literature (JEL)","name":"Empirical Studies of Trade","parent_id":"F1"},{"id":" F15","uri":"https:\/\/www.aeaweb.org\/econlit\/jelCodes.php?view=jel","vocabulary":"Journal of Economic Literature (JEL)","name":"Economic Integration","parent_id":"F1"},{"id":" L86","uri":"https:\/\/www.aeaweb.org\/econlit\/jelCodes.php?view=jel","vocabulary":"Journal of Economic Literature (JEL)","name":"Information and Internet Services \u2022 Computer Software","parent_id":"L8"},{"id":" L88","uri":"https:\/\/www.aeaweb.org\/econlit\/jelCodes.php?view=jel","vocabulary":"Journal of Economic Literature (JEL)","name":"Government Policy","parent_id":"L8"}],"output":[{"type":"Working Paper","description":"Policy Research Working Papers (PRWP)","title":"Completing The AfCFTA Mosaic: Liberalization Of Trade In Services"}],"language":[{"name":"English","code":"EN"}],"disclaimer":"The materials in the reproducibility packages are distributed as they were prepared by the staff of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development\/The World Bank.
