We conduct an experiment to test the feasibility, cost-savings, and impact of delivering live training sessions over Zoom to microentrepreneurs in Mexico and Guatemala. We demonstrate it is now feasible to both recruit and train self-employed women online, covering a wide geographic area, with few technology issues. However, the cost-savings over in-person classes are less than expected. Training improved business practices and performance over 2 months, but impacts had dissipated within 6 months.","geographic_units":[{"name":"Mexico","code":"MEX"}],"keywords":[{"name":"Business training"},{"name":"Microenterprises"},{"name":"Digital Delivery"}],"topics":[{"id":"O12","parent_id":"O1","name":"Microeconomic Analyses of Economic Development"},{"id":"O17","parent_id":"O1","name":"Formal and Informal Sectors \u2022 Shadow Economy \u2022 Institutional Arrangements"},{"id":"L26","name":"Entrepreneurship","parent_id":"L2"},{"id":"J24","name":"Human Capital \u2022 Skills \u2022 Occupational Choice \u2022 Labor Productivity","parent_id":"J2"}],"datasets":[{"name":"data\/crea_2018_cleaned.dta","access_type":"Published with package","note":"Cleaned and only selected variables are published in this package.
