Dual apprenticeships combine on-the-job training in the private sector with technical training in vocational centers to spur general skill acquisition. We study the impacts of dual apprenticeships on youth employment over 7 years in a developing economy where informality prevails. Dual apprenticeships increase youth earnings by 14%-20%, with sustained post-program effects. Gains are observed at the bottom of the distribution, with fewer "working poor'' who earn less than the formal minimum wage. Earnings increase most in self-employment, with limited changes in wage employment. Youth perform more complex and non-routine tasks, consistent with higher technical skills and productivity.
